Pros and Cons of the iPhone 5

Pros and Cons of the iPhone 5

Samsung Galaxy
ItemTitle

The iPhone 5, the latest Apple product, is regarded as 'the thinnest, lightest, fastest iPhone ever'. Though Apple states quite a lot of stunning features of the phone on their website, there are naturally a few cons associated with it. All of those who are interested in purchasing an iPhone 5 would really want to find out if the features are worth the hefty price tag or not.

There is a really impressive way to solve this problem. You can get all the amazing features you like without having to pay the high price. The solution lies in buying a used Apple iPhone 5. Since the iPhone 5 has not been in the market very long, the used iPhone will probably as good as new.

The pros and cons of iPhone 5 can help you decide which option is better: purchasing a brand new iPhone 5 or buying a used Apple iPhone 5.

Pros

Screen
The iPhone 5 screen is 4 inches which is the biggest size when compared to all previous models in the iPhone line. This may be smaller than other competing manufacturers but the resolution and the display quality is incomparable to any other screen.

4G LTE
As of now, 4G networks are characterized by the fastest data speeds. LTE is the communication standard used for 4G. The iPhone supports 4G LTE communication which makes it really speedy.

Battery Life
The most notable con of previous iPhones is the weak battery life. iPhone 5's battery life is much better than all previous models, and can last for hours even if Wi-Fi is on.

Processor
iPhone 5 features an A6 chip, which really improves the phone's speed. If you are a gaming addict, you will like this new addition.

Cons

iOS 6
iPhone 5 uses iOS 6, which is marked by new features such as an improved Siri, 3D maps and turn - by -turn navigation. However, you can easily upgrade your iPhone 4S to the same operating system and that too for free. Even if you do not have an iPhone 4S, most of the features of the new OS are still found in other recent models of the iPhone and iPad. If you are fine with this, then you can skip purchasing a new model or buying a used Apple iPhone 5.

4G LTE
Though 4G was mentioned in the pros, it comes with a disadvantage as well. If you do not travel frequently, then you might not need the high speeds. You have to pay an extra price for this feature so there is no reason for buying a used Apple iPhone 5 or a new one when you will not utilize it to the fullest. Secondly, 4G is available in limited regions so you might be able to use it.

Design
iPhone 5 is the newest Apple product, but the design is not. It is very close in appearance to iPhone 4/4S, which set new design standards at their launch.

iPhone 5 Features - What to Expect

iPhone 5 Features - What to Expect

Everyone is ready for the iPhone 5 to be released. It seems like Apple pushes back these releases many times before they actually happen, but this is for good reason. Apple builds up the buzz about the product and at this point everyone is dying to get their hands on an iPhone 5. I don't have to tell you that Apple handles marketing as well as anyone in the business. Let's talk about some of the things that makes people so excited about their latest product.

iPhone 5 Features - What to Expect

This is the first iPhone with 4G internet. Whether the user is utilizing AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon as their carrier, they will be able to use it with unprecedented speeds as far as iPhones go.

This is also the first phone that Apple will release that has a bigger screen. Up until this point all of the phones used the same size of screen. With many other companies releasing phones that have bigger screens, Apple realized they need to increase their size a bit, just to be on par with the opposing brands. It is a 4 inch screen.

iPhone 5 Features - What to Expect

This Apple phone is a good bit stronger "under the hood." It has an A6 chip, which greatly increases the processing speeds of the phone. Due to this, you can tell it is noticeably faster when it comes to opening applications and just in general. When an iPhone 5 is used next to an iPhone 4S, it is very easy to tell that the iPhone 5 is much stronger.

Most of the people that have an iPhone 4 have an expiring contract and are ready to move forward and extend their contract with an iPhone 5. Those who have an iPhone 4S are not that lucky as they still have some time on their contracts. So the question exists, is the iPhone 5 enough of an upgrade to buy out the rest of a contract and own it. Personally, I would say that it is not. While it is a better phone, it is not enough of an upgrade to pay the extra money to get out of the contract. It certainly is good enough to keep all users with the Apple brand for another generation.

Well, after all of the wait, the iPhone 5 is finally here. Just a few more short days and it will be here for customers of Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T. The buzz on the streets for this product is amazing. Once again, Apple has everyone ready to snatch up their latest and greatest product.

Cell Phones For the Deaf - Data Only Cellular Plans

Cell Phones For the Deaf - Data Only Cellular Plans

For deaf individuals or for those with significant hearing loss, cell phones can still be a great way of staying in touch. By selecting hearing aid compatible cell phones, those with a mild to moderate hearing loss can often make use of these handy communication devices especially when a neckloop, amplifier, or an induction coupler known as Hatis is added. For deaf individuals or those with a more severe hearing loss, the ability to use text messaging features is critical and the use of voice calling frustrating or useless. In such instances, paying for costly voice plans makes no sense when the individual can only make use of the data features.

Fortunately, some of the major US cellular providers now offer data only plans that can be purchased without any voice plan required. T-Mobile offers the Sidekick Data Plan which offers unlimited e-mails, messaging, web surfing, and instant messaging for only .99/month. AIM comes installed on the phone and users can download Yahoo!Messenger. Users can also sync up to three of their POP3 e-mail accounts to their cell phone and they receive a free tmail.com account with 6MB of storage. Voice calls, if needed, would be charged at 20 cents/minute.

AT&T offers the Text Accessibility Plan (TAP) for iPhone. This plan includes unlimited SMS messages, unlimited data usage (e-mail and web) as well as visual voice mail for /month. Any voice calls would be charged at 40 cents/minute. The AT&T site indicates that potential users need to complete a Disability Certification form, sign up for regular iPhone activation via iTunes, and then contact AT&Ts National Center for Customers with Disabilities to change their service to the TAP plan for iPhone. Availability is sparse in Alaska as well as parts of the western US.

Sprint provides the Sprint Relay Data Plan. This .99/month plan provides unlimited e-mail, internet access, instant messaging, domestic text messaging (SMS), and unlimited Phone as Modem. Incoming and outgoing calls are blocked to avoid any unwanted expenses. This block can be removed by the user and voice calls would then be charged 20 cents/minute for local calls and 40 cents/minute for long distance. Users can get this plan only via the Sprintrelaystore.com site.

US Cellular offers a number of data only plans. They have a "Standard Wireless" plan for .95/month which provides unlimited text messaging and, if needed, voice calls for 25 cents/minute within area and 69 cents/minute when roaming. For those interested in a plan without a contract or any credit checks, they also offer a Prepaid Plan. This .95/month plan also gives users unlimited text messaging but any voice calls are charged at 50 cents/minute in area and 69 cents when roaming.

For those wanting additional data services, US Cellular offers the Blackberry Plan which provides unlimited texting messaging for .95 and e-mail and web service for an additional .95/month. Any voice calls are charged at 99 cents/minute. Users get not only text messaging but Yahoo!Messenger, GoogleTalk Messenger, and Blackberry Messenger as well as the ability to link up to 10 personal POP3 e-mail accounts. The final offering is their Windows Mobile plan which provides unlimited text messaging for .95/month and Windows Mobile e-mail and web for an additional .95. Users get the Microsoft OS with Internet Explorer web browsing, MSN Instant Messenger and the ability to link up to 8 messaging and e-mail accounts.

Data only plans make sense and certainly there are at least a handful of options available; making cellular based communication a more affordable option for the deaf and hearing impAired.
